Radiation Protection Gown Screening
The FLOWD8020 is designed for non-destructive, non-contact radiographic testing of X-ray protective materials and clothing to determine their actual X-Ray protective properties and to approve their continued use.
MAIN FEATURES:
Determination of the actual lead equivalent (LE) of the surface to be inspected
Identification of potentially weak areas of X-ray protective clothing
Large scale image of the analysed area (750x1300 mm)
Report-builder
Enhanced mobility and plug-&-play commissioning
The FLOWD System features a cutting-edge flat-fan X-ray beam geometry with an aperture angle of 82°, aligned within the plane of the linear array detector. This innovative design allows for an impressive inspection width of up to 750mm, ensuring comprehensive coverage of the inspected item.
Using its unique calibration function, the system accurately determines Lead Equivalency (LE) within a thickness range of 0.25mm to 1.00mm Pb. As items pass through the primary beam, the attenuated radiation is captured by detectors, converted into digital signals, and processed to create a clear X-ray image. Simultaneously, the system displays the precise LE information directly on-screen.
This process is powered by the X-ray transmission measurement principle, delivering a reliable, efficient, and user-friendly screening procedure to ensure optimal performance and safety.

Software Capabilities: Colourisation
The automatic defect search algorithm (PbEngine) colours the image pixels green and red depending on the actual LE value relative to the nominal LE value set by the operator.
PIXEL COLOR | VALUE |
Red or Pink | Actual LE more than 10% lower than the nominal value. |
Green | Actual LE exceeds or corresponds to the nominal value. |
Report Builder
The arithmetic mean ROI of the LE holes is included in the report together with the corresponding images.
The operator can decide on the suitability of the item for further use.
Indicators of the relative heterogeneity of the protective material are calculated based on the actual LE values.
